"Learning Chinese"

Already well known as a host of numerous English teaching programs, in 2003 Dashan was asked by China Central Television to host "Learning Chinese", aimed at teaching Chinese to an international audience. The result was over 270 episodes broadcast around the world by satellite on CCTV-9.

Three distinct sets of programs have been produced, beginning with "Communicate in Chinese" in 2003. This was followed by "Travel in Chinese" in 2005 and "Sports Chinese" in 2008.

"Sports Chinese" is currently being broadcast on CCTV-9 at 3:15 am, 9:15 am and 3:15 pm (Beijing time). Streaming video and program texts can also be found on the CCTV International website.

Textbooks and video disks for "Communicate in Chinese" were released by the Popular Science Press in 2004. These can be purchased in most Foreign Language Bookstores across China, or by contacting the publisher directly at +8610 62103212 or by email. Textbooks and video materials for "Travel in Chinese" and "Sports Chinese" have not yet been released.
